Tim leads with integrity and accountability, believing trust is earned over time through consistent actions and sound judgment.
Background
Tim Moore serves as Chief Legal Officer of Allegacy, leading legal strategy, governance, enterprise risk, and compliance with a steady, principled approach. A lifelong North Carolinian with decades of legal experience and nearly a decade at Allegacy, he brings disciplined judgment and thoughtful perspective to the organization’s most consequential decisions. Before joining Allegacy, Tim spent 15 years in private practice representing community banks, credit unions, businesses, and individuals across North Carolina. That experience shaped his belief that strong financial institutions pair sound governance and risk management with responsiveness and common sense — especially when individuals and families are making important financial decisions. Since joining Allegacy in 2016, Tim has overseen legal affairs, enterprise risk, compliance, and governance, while also serving as President of Allegacy Services. He partners closely with executive leadership and the Board to support strategic growth, maintain regulatory strength, and safeguard the organization’s long-term stability.
Why Allegacy
Tim was drawn to Allegacy’s member-owned model and its long-term, member-first approach to serving North Carolina communities. He sees his role as safeguarding the trust members place in the credit union—ensuring it remains strong, stable, and able to serve families and communities for generations. Whether navigating regulatory change or supporting strategic initiatives, Tim brings disciplined judgment, practical business insight, and the independence to speak candidly when it matters most.
My role is to protect the trust members place in Allegacy — by asking thoughtful questions, being candid about the realities, and making decisions that serve members and strengthen our organization over time.”
