Nathanael leads with authenticity and compassion, guided by a deep commitment to helping others succeed. Shaped by his upbringing in a low-income immigrant family, he is passionate about lifting people up and embracing the impossible with hope and optimism.

Background

Nathanael was born in Singapore and moved to the United States at age eight where he grew up in rural North Carolina. His father’s perseverance and pursuit of the American dream left an indelible mark on Nathanael’s life that continues to inspire him today. While starting a family, he balanced full-time work delivering paint with evening classes to earn his accounting degree, an experience that strengthened his appreciation for grit and opportunity. His career in the credit union movement began in risk and fraud analysis, where his work ethic, people-first mindset, and leadership ability quickly stood out. Over time, Nathanael earned the trust of boards, teams, and communities, serving as CEO of three mission-focused credit unions across Arizona, Texas, and North Carolina. Whether guiding these organizations through growth, challenge, or transformation, Nathanael’s leadership remains grounded in what matters most — the people.

Why Allegacy

Returning to North Carolina to lead Allegacy was a homecoming for Nathanael — reuniting three generations of his family. He was drawn to the credit union’s deep roots and commitment to delivering the best solutions for North Carolinians. It is a place where relationships and community truly matter and where success is measured by the number of lives made better. These purpose-driven values aligned well with his commitment to help others achieve their American dream.
